rfid>Genesis, we say “It’s just the beginning,” because the expanded functionality of harnessing Genesis with your ERP/WMS, or legacy system, provides unparalleled visibility into your supply chain from receipt of an asset through distribution to destination. It’s not just the mandates driving interest in RFID capabilities; it’s the long perceptive look at future benefits from managing assets better than ever before.
The concept is straightforward. When a customer order requiring RFID tags is released for shipment, it is directed to Genesis. The inventory for the order is brought to the station to print the case and pallet tags. When the tags are printed and “slapped” onto the cases, the cases are then re-stacked onto the pallet. The completed pallet can then be passed through a portal to scan and verify the tags for shipment.
When shipped, the RFID tag data is transmitted to the EPC network for customer receipt. At the customer’s site, the tags can be scanned and verified against the data transmitted to the EPC network to enable automatic verification and receipt of inventory.
Genesis can be easily integrated or it can operate as a stand-alone system. Additional features are the ability to manage readers attached to a portal and provision for event notification for hardware errors or shipping exceptions.
Genesis truly does make it simple to print, slap the tag on, and ship your products...in full compliance with EPC standards and your retailer’s or Department of Defense mandates. Call Franwell for today’s solution to future mandates.
