rfid>Sleeve is a wearable RFID system that consists of a reader and an antenna enabled by Bluetooth or wifi. Designed to be worn on the lower arm, the rfid>Sleeve automatically scans RFID tags on products, cases or containers as the user handles them in their normal workflow.

As companies strive to achieve efficient and effective supply chains, there is a need to increase worker productivity while providing event data to the supporting supply chain systems. Enabling fast and accurate data capture has long-been the goal of RFID supporters/developers. Mobile devices are a very important part of the overall RFID solution. The next natural progression is taking the mobile solution to a hands-free solution, allowing the person handling product to work at their most natural and efficient state while capturing the information needed in a seamless and passive manner
The sleeve is designed to be used in any application where RFID tagged products, cases or containers need to be scanned while they are handled individually such as a typical warehouse or retail store activity of preparing or breaking down an order, breaking down a pallet or a case, associating cases to orders, etc.

The table above illustrates the results of an efficiency study of time spent for breaking-down a pallet with different scanning techniques. The tests were conducted at the University of Florida by research students. The test results show that Franwell’s wearable RFID system out performs any other devices and reduces the time by more than 25% from the closest solution.
