Franwell rfid>Trace is an item level track and trace sytem for pedigree verification of controlled substances. Trace enables RFID applications for sensitive, hazardous, or controlled substances in diverse industries, such as pharmaceuticals, weaponry, explosives and other operations requiring a high level of item traceability. When integrated, the rfid>Trace system makes use of the data flow between the end user or manufacturer and retailers. The tag verification process at each link of the supply chain assures that the integrity of orders has not been compromised from manufacturing to distribution.

Franwell Tote Portal was developed to enable practical retail use of the rfid>Trace system for pharmaceutical requirements. The Franwell Tote Portal provides store housing for RFID equipment integrated with the system. This compact unit consists of requisite RF hardware enclosed in a durable molded plastic RFID portal. The compact portal is designed to fit conveniently and unobtrusively in a pharmacy or store setting. The portal is both rugged and practical while meeting the sensitivity requirements to read accurately the individually tagged controlled substances containers.
